Matilyn
Hello!I’m a 26-year old graphic designer, illustrator, artist, and creative. I have a traditional-art background, so I seek to honor digital work with handmade elements wherever possible.
I believe in critical-making and functional design, and making original work that holds a story and a personality. I’ve worked with logo designs, brand identities, collateral development, illustrative icons, motion design, website design, and many others.
I value variety, sincerity, and personal connections in this industry— as it can be difficult to humanize corporate work in a our digital/ AI age. I am an advocate for empowered nuerodiversity, mental health, music therapy, young people, and having cats as emotional support animals.

“Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
BY THE WAY…
WHAT IS THIS ICON?
M.JoM. Jo is an abbreviated version of my name, Mattie Jo. I designed this in early 2023 as a signature for artwork, typically in the bottom righthand corner of the design. Inspired by Japanese woodblock illustrations, the mark-making texture and extended borderlines indicate subtle expressive refinement, and the idea of “boundary breaking” where the letterforms extend past the box.
This frame creates a space on the right-side below the J to place the 2-digit vertical year of creation, such as 2/6 for the year 2026.
I designed this with a lot of artistic intention, and have since modified it digitally to work across mediums and devices. I actually have this tattooed in turquoise ink on my right forearm!
